A New Day // A Prayer from Today's Psalms // June 30, 2025

Image
Yesterday, Lord...my heart and head in turmoil, overwhelmed by circumstances beyond my control. I cried to you for help, and now I see that you have brought me through it, granting me trust-filled rest and praise-filled joy in how you have provided for me today. Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity, you are God. Who understands the power of your anger? Your wrath matches the fear that is due you. Teach me to number my days carefully so that I may develop wisdom in our hearts. Satisfy me in the morning with your faithful love, amplify your joy in me, open my eyes to see your work of splendor, and establish me in your glory! Let everything that breathes praise the Lord God Almighty. Hallelujah! A Prayer based upon Psalms 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 // Milt Reynolds Photo by Vanburn Gonsalves on Unsplash

Frustrated and Fearful // A Prayer from Today's Psalms // June 28, 2025

Image
Lord, my heart feels frustrated and resentful towards people and circumstances. Open my mind to consider what you have done, and are doing, and will do in, and around, and through me...even in this difficult time. Make my heart to trust in your strength and wisdom in all things, pleasing or painful. Lead me into trust-filled patience and compassion and genuine love for you and for those you have brought into my life. Thank you, Lord, for your goodness, for your faithful love, even in my distress and fear. You are for me; I will not be afraid. You are my helper; I will not give in to despair or anger. Bring to my mind today a song of praise, a prayer of trust, and a shout of victory. I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what you have done! Do what is best, Lord, as you teach my unruly, ungrateful, disobedient heart and mind to trust and obey your holy Word. Satisfy my heart with the promise and presence and preciousness of Jesus, my Redeemer, Savior and Ki...

My Rock // A Prayer from Today's Psalms // June 18, 2025

Image
Lord Jesus, remind me today that you are my Rock, our Most High God, and my Redeemer. Train my soul to be sincere toward you, to be faithful to your Holy Word. Teach my voice to sing praise with the whole of my being, for your love is higher than the heavens, and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Fulfill your purpose for me, in every circumstance you have determined for me today. Lord, hear my prayer! // A Prayer from Today's Psalms // June 12, 2025

Image
Lord, hear my prayer; let my cry for help come before you.  Show me your face in my day of trouble. Lord, guard my heart today; protect my heart against unfaithfulness and dishonor to you.  Protect my words from deceit and flattery. Fill my heart with your pure Word. As a deer longs for flowing streams, so I long for you, God.  I thirst for you, the living God. When can I come and be with you? Why, my soul, are you so dejected? Why are you in such turmoil?  Put your hope in God, and I will praise him, my Savior and my God. Lord, send your faithful love by day, and your song of love in the night.  This is my prayer to the God of my life. Psalm 8: How Majestic Is Your Name!

Image
Psalm 8: How Majestic Is Your Name! To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of David. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Psalms 8:1-9 (ESV) What do y...
