Lord, hear my prayer! // A Prayer from Today's Psalms // June 12, 2025

Lord, hear my prayer; let my cry for help come before you.  Show me your face in my day of trouble. Lord, guard my heart today; protect my heart against unfaithfulness and dishonor to you.  Protect my words from deceit and flattery. Fill my heart with your pure Word. As a deer longs for flowing streams, so I long for you, God.  I thirst for you, the living God. When can I come and be with you? Why, my soul, are you so dejected? Why are you in such turmoil?  Put your hope in God, and I will praise him, my Savior and my God. Lord, send your faithful love by day, and your song of love in the night.  This is my prayer to the God of my life. His thoughts encourage me: "But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us." 2 Corinthians 4:7 (ESV) Paul was describing how God committed his greatest work into the hands of men formed from the dust – in ...
